Description and origin :
Stevia comes from Paraguay where it was originally called “sweet herb”. Stevia has the peculiarity of being a sweetening herb: a few leaves added to a tea or a herbal tea sweeten it. It has a light refreshing flavor slightly reminiscent of liquorice. There are also powdered stevias from which this flavor has been removed.

Advantages :
Does not affect the glycemic index and contains virtually no calories. So it is a favorite with diabetics and people following special diets. It has a higher sweetening power than sugar.

How to use :
To sweeten your yoghourts, drinks and some cakes.
